Apple Pie Recipe

4-5 tart apples, approx. 6 cups
1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
1/2 c. sugar, less if using sweet apples
2 T. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 pie crusts, top and bottom
2 T. butter, soft

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Peel, core, and thinly slice apples. Mix in applesauce.

In a small bowl, mix together sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Pour over apples and mix thoroughly.

Place bottom pie crust into pie plate and rub the inside with some butter. Pour the apple mixture into the shell. Place remaining butter, cut into small pieces, onto the apples. After cutting several small vent holes into the upper crust, place it on top of the pie. Crimp the edges closed.

Bake at 400º for 45-50 minutes.
