1 box of light brown sugar
1 stick of margarine at room temperature
2 cups of flour
1 egg
1tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sour milk (If you do not have sour milk, add 1 1/2 tbsp vinegar to 1 cup of milk and put in the mixture before adding the baking soda)

Directions:

Mix the brown sugar, margarine and flour together. Put 1/2 of this mixture into a 9x13 pan. Add to the remaining mixture the egg, nutmeg, baking soda and sour milk (if you made your own sour milk, make sure to add this to the recipe prior to adding the baking soda).

This is from Grandma's recipes. I am not sure of the importance of adding the sour milk prior to the banking soda, but since it was written that way, that is what I put down.
