4 cans beans, drained (green beans, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, black beans are what I use)
1 medium Bermuda (red) onion, thinly sliced into rings
1 medium green pepper, thinly sliced into rings (optional)

Marinade:
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. red wine vinegar
1/2 c. salad oil
1 t salt
1/2 t dry mustard
1/2 t dried tarragon
1/2 t dried basil
2 T snipped parsley or 1 T dried parsley flakes

Directions:

Pour marinade over beans.
Refrigerate, covered, several hours or overnight.
Stir occasionally.
