1 kosher chicken, cut into 8ths
1 onion
1 turnip
1/2 anise root
1 leek
3 carrots cut into chunks
3 stalks of celery taken from center, leaves and all
handful of Italian parsley and handful of dill, tied together with twine
1 large parsnip
about 2 handfuls of kosher salt
about 10 peppercorns

Make a slice in each vegetable except carrots and celery to release flavors and place in pot with chicken.
Taste for salt and correct if more is needed before cooking, while cooking and after cooking.
Do not over salt as it is easier to add than remove.
Cook on low heat until chicken is thoroughly cooked and vegetables are tender.
Discard all vegetables except carrots and cut up chicken or stir well and allow chicken to fall off bones.
Remove bones.

Personal Notes:
Use a matzoh ball mix, tastes just as good as homemade! I put kreplach and fine noodles into soup too. This will cure any disease known to man and some not known.
