6 eggs (extra large eggs work best)
3 cups sugar
3 sticks margarine (melted)
3 pinches of salt
1-1/2 cups walnuts, broken
3 cups flour
1 lb dates (cut in small pieces)
1 jar maraschino cherries -(about 11 oz) cut in half
Dash of vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs. Add sugar, mix well. Add remaining ingredients, add cherries last.

Put in greased 17" x 11-1/2" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes, until light brown/tan in color.

Dust with confectionery sugar when slightly cooled. When completely cool, cut into 1" squares and enjoy!
