2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup cold water
1 cup hot water
1 clove garlic
12 large hard boiled eggs
1 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons pimiento

Sprinkle gelatin over cold water. Let stand a few minutes, then dissolve in hot water. Rub a large mixing bowl with a clove of garlic, discarding the garlic. Sieve or grate eggs in bowl. Mix together rest of ingredients. Add eggs and gelatin mixture. Grease individual molds or one large mold with salad oil. Pour in egg mixture and chill thoroughly. When congealed, unmold onto lettuce leaves.
NOTE: Options include adding chopped celery, olives, or even diced cooked chicken.
