1 cup of a sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) butter
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. The glaze will foam up and thicken as the sugar dissolves and the butter melts, 3 to 4 minutes.
2. Poke hols in a cooled cake of your choice and pour the hot glaze over it.
