Ingredients: Cake: Dry: 3 cups flour 2 cups sugar 2 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup cocoa 1 tsp. salt
Wet: 3/4 cup oil 2 tsp. vinegar 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 tsp.butter flavoring
2 cups cold water

Directions:Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In an ungreased 9 x 13 pan mix all dry ingredients with a fork until they are well blended.
Mix all wet ingredients (except water) in a measuring cup and whisk.
Make 3 wells in the dry ingredients and pour the oil/vinegar mixture in the wells. Pour 2 cups cold water over all, and blend thoroughly with a FORK. DO NOT BEAT. Bake at 350º for 30-40 mins. (Toothpick test) Cool and frost. Must be cool.
Frosting: In a saucepan, on low heat, melt 1 stick of butter/oleo. Remove from heat. Add: 1 tsp. vanilla, 3 T. cocoa, 2 T hot coffee, 1 cup chopped pecans, and 1 box of powdered Confectioner's sugar. Stir until blended. More coffee may be added if it is too dry, but add it a little at a time. Spread on cooled cake. |

Susan Noakes wed Aubrey Dean Horner on July 24, 1954. She was born on July 22, 1935 and passed away on March 15, 1996. She was a very loving, wife, mother, and grandmother.
