9" pastry shell, unbaked, chilled
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft butter
6 c. cooking apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
vanilla ice cream

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, brown sugar, salt, butter; blend until crumbly, then set aside. Combine apples, granulated sugar and cinnamon; mix gently to coat apple slices. Pack apple mixture into chilled crust. Sprinkle crumb topping over apples. Bake in 375º oven until apples are tender, about 50 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
