Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup white Karo
2/3 cup water
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites until stiff in mixmaster bowl. Set aside. In a medium pot, boil sugar, Karo, and water (stir constantly) until at least a 6 in. thread strings from the last drop from the wooden spoon you are stirring with. Pour gradually over egg whites, beating constantly. Continue beating with mixer until mixture loses its glossy appearance. (This can take a while, depending on the humidity.)
Once it looks more chalky, stop beating and stir in vanilla and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. Store in an air-tight container.

Personal Notes:
"This is not a difficult process, and remember the less humid it is outside, the better. I watched my mom make this every Christmas, and now I do every year. It always gets rave reviews! Thanks Mom!" (Darla Horner Menking)
