1 pkg. active dry yeast
2 cups warm water
Dissolve for 5 minutes

Mix in 1/2 c. sugar, 2 c. flour, 1 tsp. salt. Beat until smooth add 2 eggs, 3 T. melted shortening (cooled).
Beat until smooth, stir in 5 c. flour. Beat 5 minutes dough soft. Cover and let rise. Until doubles/punch down/ knead a few seconds. Cut into 12 equal pieces. Roll out 8x6".

Runza filling:
2 lb. ground beef
Steam 10-15 min 2 c. finely chopped onion 4 c. shredded cabbage and 2 T. water.
Add:
1 T. salt
1 T. worchestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. each of leaf oregano, savory spice.
1/2 tsp. msg seasoned salt or reg salt
pepper

Put filing on the dough and make into bundles. Cook 400º 20-25 minutes. After they have baked for 15 minutes brush with a mixture of 2 T. water to 1 egg yolk/ beat thoroughly. Then return to oven for remainder of baking time.
