1 lb. ground beef
½ C. (1 small) chopped onion
½ C. (4 oz. can) drained mushroom stems and pieces
1 ¼ C. (10 ½-oz. can) condensed cream of mushroom soup
¼ cup red wine (beef broth or water may be substituted)
½ C. dairy sour cream

Directions:

In fry pan, brown ground beef and onion; drain well. Stir in mushrooms, soup and red wine. Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Stir in sour cream; heat through, but do not boil. Serve over rice, extra wide egg noodles or chow mein noodles. Makes 4 to 5 servings.

Tips: For an oven casserole, omit onion and spoon cooked mixture into a 1 ½ to 2-quart casserole. Top with French fried onions. Bake at 350º for 20 minutes until heated through.
