1/2 cup lemon, grated and juice in 1/2 cup water.
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon fresh nutmeg
4 cups sliced apples
2 tablespoons of butter

Directions:
Directions:
Simmer lemon juice, lemon rind in 1/2 cup water for 5 minutes.
Combine 3/4 cup sugar, and tablespoons flour, nutmeg, blend in the water mixture.
Cook, stirring constantly until thickened.
Add 4 cups sliced apples and 2 tablespoons butter. Turn into well greased dish. Bake 400 degrees 35-45 minutes. Serve warm with freshly made whipped cream.
Use pie crust cut into small pieces over the apples.
