3 C. dates
½ C. sugar
1 ½ C. water
1 ½ C. flour
½ tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt
1 cup brown sugar
1 ¼ C. rolled oats
¾ C. shortening
Directions:
Directions:
Boil together dates, sugar,and water. Mix shortening thoroughly into dry mixture and pour in one-half of mixture in a pan 7x11 inches. Next add date filling. Put the remaining mixture on top. Bake to a golden brown. Serve with whipped cream.
