¼ C. Crisco (butter or margarine)
¾ C. sugar
1 egg
1 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. nutmeg
2 C. apples, chopped
½ C. walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour 9x5 inch loaf pan. In saucepan melt shortening over medium heat. Remove from heat. Blend in sugar and egg. Mix in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg, then add apples and nuts. Bake 30-40 minutes. Makes 1 large loaf.
