1 lb. navy beans
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 medium onion
ham juice or bits of ham
water

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and drain dried beans. Cover with water. Add soda. Bring to boil and drain. Cover with water again. Add onion and ham or ham juice. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until beans are tender.
