2 cups of Sugar
1 cup of butter (2 Sticks)
3 eggs
1 cup of Buttermilk
3 cups of Plane Flour (sifted)
1 teaspoon butternut flavoring
¼ teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking soda

Icing Ingredients:
1 box (16 ozs.) Confectioner’s sugar
1 8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
2 teaspoons butternut flavoring
¼ cup of butter
1 cup of chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease (butter) and flour 3, 9" cake pans. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix baking soda and salt into buttermilk until foamy. Add buttermilk alternating with flour. Add 3 teaspoons of flavoring. Pour into prepared pans and bake until done. (20-25 minutes)

For icing, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add box of powdered sugar and beat well. Add butternut flavoring and blend. Stir in chopped nuts (pecans). Spread thinly between layers and cover cake completely with icing.
