2 1/2 cups shortening
4 eggs
1 T vanilla
4 1/3 cup all purpose flour
4 t ground cinnamon
1 t salt
5 cups sugar
1/3 cup molasses
4 3/4 cup quick oats
4 t baking powder
1 t baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in molasses and vanilla. Combine the remaining ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture. Drop by Tablespoons 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350* for 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm. Remove to wire racks to cool.
