Prepare cake according to pkg directions using the water and 1/3 cup creme de menthes. Bake as directed in cake pans (for a double decker).

While cake is hot spoon on chocolate topping and spread evenly. When cool top with Cool Whip and 4 T creme de menthe. Keep refrigerated.

Sometimes I make the cake a day ahead and wrap in plastic wrap. The following day I warm the chocolate topping and spread, let cool and frost with Cool Whip

Personal Notes:
I made this the first time for Johnny Frank, an Italian, born on St, Patrick's Day. We all loved it especially Joe and it has been a tradition ever since for Joe's birthday! It is his favorite!
