1 small head of cabbage, thinly shredded and shaped into small pieces (large chunks can create a problem while filling and cooking)
1 large onion, minced
1/4 lb. butter (1 stick)
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Melt the butter or margarine in a frying pan. Add onion and cabbage, sauté until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper while cooking.
Make your piergoies, fill with the cabbage and onion and seal. Reserve the drippings from the pan. Once the pierogies are stuffed and cooked, brown in the heated, reserved drippings.
