2 unbaked pie shells (not deep dish)
2 cups of sugar
1/3 cup cocoa plus 1 tablespoon of cocoa
1/3 cup melted butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. Blend sugar and cocoa. Add melted butter, salt and vanilla and stir. Add eggs and milk, mix and then stir in pecans. Pour into the 2 unbaked pie shells for 35-40 minutes. Pie is done when it start to crack on top.

If you want to bring a showstopper this is it! Betty Ledbetter brought these pies to our house when they came over to fish. The pies were still warm and I just had to have a piece right then! OMG!! I asked for the recipe on the spot and she gave it to me! When you make these for your next outing, be sure to time it so they come out of the oven just as you leave. It makes a difference!
