Part 1:
1 8 oz. package cream cheese
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1 6 ox package chocolate chips

Part 2:
1 1/2 Cup unsifted all-purpose flour
1 Cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 Cup unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cream cheese, sugar, egg, and salt and beat until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and set aside.

Blend together flour, cocoa, salt, oil, 1 cup of sugar, vanilla, baking soda, water, and vinegar. Batter will be thin.

Pour Part 2 into a greased 8" square pan. Pour Part 1 mixture over cake and swirl through. Bake for 50-60 minutes at 350º

Allow to cook, then cut into squares to serve.

This has been a family favorite for years and is a stand-in for my mom's "famous" chocolate pie. She wouldn't give me that recipe for publication (family secret), so we shared this instead.
