1-1/2 tsp butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 Tbsp. white sugar
1 Tbsp. baking soda
1 lb. milk chololate candy coating
1 tsp. shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Butter a 9"x13" pan.
In a large heavy pan combine sugar, syrup, and vinegar. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Cook without stirring until candy thermometer reads 300º (hard crack stage).
Remove from heat; stir in baking soda. Pour into greased pan; but do not spread. Cool. Break into pieces.
Melt chocolate and shortening in the microwave. Dip each piece of candy in chocolate and put on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container.
Makes 1-1/2 lbs. of candy.
