4 tbsp finely chopped onions
4 tbsp butter
6 tbsp flour
1/4 tsp pepper
4 cups milk
8 oz (2 cups) shredded American cheese or 8 oz of cheese slices
4 chicken-flavored bouillon cubes
3 cups water
2 bay leaves
6 cups broccoli

Directions:
Directions:
In large saucepan, cook onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour and pepper until well blended. Add milk and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add cheese and stir until melted. Remove from heat.
In a separate saucepan, dissolve bouillon cubes in water. Add bay leaves and bring to boil. Add broccoli, cook until tender. Then drain, and remove bay leaves. Add broccoli to cheese mixture and stir until well blended.
