1 ¼ C. all-purpose flour
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. baking soda
½ C. Snowdrift (Crisco)
½ C. brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/3 C. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. water
7 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ C. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, measure, resift 3 times with soda and salt. Cream Snowdrift with brown and granulated sugar. Add egg, vanilla and water, mix well. Stir in flour mixture in 2 or 3 portions. Add chocolate chips and nuts, mix well. Drop by teaspoons, about 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven (375º F.) about 9 minutes. Remove from pan to cake rack.
