1 C sugar
3 C all-purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/3 C water
1 egg
1 C milk
zest from 3 oranges
2 TBS butter, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

Place sugar in water in a medium saucepan and add orange zest. Boil until mixture is quite thick, stirring occasionally. Cool.

Add flour and baking powder to sugar mixture. Beat in the egg and add milk to it.

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and stir into the batter. Pour into a greased 9x5 loaf pan and let it rise for 15-minutes. Bake for one hour.
