For crust:
1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs
3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted

For filling:
1 package gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
3 egg whites (beaten stiff and dry)
1 cup cream, whipped
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon peppermint flavoring
1/2 cup crushed peppermint stick candy, loosely packed

For the wafer crust:
Cream butter. Mix the wafer crumbs with the sugar, and then mix with the butter. Pat into pie pan and chill.

For the filling:
Stir the gelatin into cold water, then heat over hot water to dissolve. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in the sugar gradually. Combine the gelatin with the egg whites. Fold in whipped cream, flavoring and crushed 1/4 cup of crushed candy. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup of crushed candy over chilled crust. Then pour filling into crumb crust and chill. May garnish with additional crush peppermint candy and a sprig of mint.
