1 lb ground beef
2 tsp chili powder
2 tbs flour
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1 green pepper, chopped
1 1/4 cups chopped onion
1/2 cup diced tomato
1 8ox can tomato sauce
2 undrained cans kidney beans
1 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet.
Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
Turn off heat, remove excess grease from skillet.
Add the chili powder, flour, sugar, cayenne, and paprika to the skillet.
Stir well.
Add the green pepper, onion, tomato sauce, kidney beans and water.
Turn heat up to high. Don't go away. Turn heat to low when the chili begins to bubble and thicken. Stir often.
Cover and simmer on lowest heat until the green pepper is tender.

What makes this recipe special to me is that Kirsten and I concocted it ourselves when we were newlyweds, and always cooked it together. The well worn recipe card for this is one of the few in my own handwriting.
