2 cans chopped clams with juice
1 c. water
1/4 lb. bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
5 c. peeled and diced potatoes
2 c milk
8 square saltine crackers
2 c. half and half
2 Tbls butter
Chopped parsley
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped carrots
1 8 oz. can mushrooms
1 pinch thyme
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp seasoned salt

Directions:
Saute' bacon until crop leaving 2 Tblsp of drippings. Saute' onions in the drippings. Set aside.

Cook potatoes in water in microwave until tender (6 minutes or so).

Cook celery and carrots in microwave until tender (add 1 Tblsp water when cooking).

Pour milk in bowl with saltines and stir until soggy and dissolved.

In a large pot, dump all ingredients and heat. Stir during heating.

This is my original - taking many recipes and coming up with this as the Hytjan Final!! We often served this on Super Bowl Sunday...and had sub sandwiches...with chili as an alternative soup.

This is GREAT left-over!!
