1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white
1 small pk. sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolk, flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Press dough into a greased cookie sheet. Brush tops with whipped egg white. Sprinkle almonds on top and press in. Bake at 350º for 10-15 minutes.

These are lovely. Mom also pressed them into an 8" x 8" pan and cut into squares. These cookies are tied into so many of my fond memories as a child. I can't see a cookie covered in almonds without thinking of these. They were a special treat. ---Jennifer
