Miller and Paine Crumb Cookies Recipe

1 c shortening
1 1/2 c sugar
3 eggs
4 c crumbs packed down--cookies, cakes, etc.
1 c molasses
1/4 c milk
4-5 c flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp cloves
2. c raisins
1/2 c pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and mix until light. Add crumbs and molasses. Mix until crumbs are completely broken up and mixture is light and fluffy. Add milk. Grind raisins and pecans and add them with sifted dry ingredients. Mix about 5 minutes. Chill dough then roll 3/8 " thick on floured board. Sprinkle with sugar. Cut with 2 1/4" cookie cutter. Bake 15-20 minutes in 350º oven. This dough will keep several days in the refrigerator.
