2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick margarine
1/2 c. Crisco
6 T cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp soda

Frosting
6 T. milk
1 stick margarine
4 T. cocoa
1 box powder sugar
1 tsp vanilla
i c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400º
Sift flour and sugar together and set aside.
In a small pan heat to boiling point, stirring constantly water, margarine, Crisco and cocoa. After it comes to a boil pour over sugar and flour. Mix well. Add vanilla eggs and buttermilk and soda mixed together Bake in a greased and floured pan 30-40 minutes or until done. While cake is baking about the last 10 minutes cook frosting

Heat in pan milk, margarine, cocoa, bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add powder sugar, vanilla and pecans. Mix well. Pour over hot cake.

sub for buttermilk: Mix 2 tsp. vinegar into 1/2 c. milk
