2 tablespoons shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. evaprated milk
1 1/2 tsp. yeast
1 egg beaten
3 3/4 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
place shortening, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. stir in 1/2 c. boiling water. add milk cool to lukewarm.

dissolve yeast in 1/4 c. lukewarm water; add sugar mixture to yeast mixture. stir in egg; add 2 c. flour. beat throughly; stir in remaining flour

place in greased bowl, turning to grease top of dough. cover and chill.

roll chilled dough out to 1/4 inch thickness; cut into 2 inch squars. fry, several at a time in deep fat fryer at 375 degrees.

brown on both sides for 2 min.
drain on paper towels and dust with powder sugar.
