1½ cups butter
2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
½ cup light molasses
2 eggs
4½ cups sifted flour
4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves

Sugar to roll cookies in

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.Cream butter, brown sugar, molasses and eggs until fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients and stir into the molasses mixture. Form into small balls. Roll in sugar, place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet and press down lightly with fingers. Bake 8-10 minutes, cool slightly and remove from pan.
