2 tsp. vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. minced ginger
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. water
3/4 c. dark brown sugar
1 c. vegetable oil
1 lb. flank or round steak
1/4 c. cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
Make sauce by heating 2 tsp. vegetable oil in saucepan. Add ginger and garlic and quickly add soy sauce and water before the garlic scorches. Dissolve the brown sugar and boil sauce for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat. Slice the steak thin and against the grain. Dip steak in cornstarch and let sit 10 minutes. Heat up 1 c. oil over medium heat until hot. Saute for 2 minutes until beef darkens around the edges. Put meat on paper towels and pour oil out. Put meat back into pan and simmer 1 minute. Add sauce and serve over rice.
