1/2 lb unsalted butter (2 sticks)
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 c sifted all-purpose flour
1 c shelled hazelnuts pulverized in a blender or food processor

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 º. Cream butter and sugar together in mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla and keep beating until smooth. Sift the flour into the mixture 1/2 cup at a time beating well after each addition. Finally beat in the ground nuts. Refrigerate for an hour or up to several days. Place dough 1 heaped teaspoon at a time on an ungreased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. Wet fingers and pat each cookie flat and thin. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 10 minutes or until they are firm and light brown. Transfer to rack to cool. They will keep several weeks in tightly sealed containers.
