1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 T. flour
1 T. sugar
few T. water
3 egg yolks
dash salt
2 T. butter
baked pie crust
meringue

Directions:
Directions:
Place 1 c. sugar in iron skillet, brown. Turn off fire, add 1 1/2 c. boiling water; turn on fire, melt sugar completely, stirring often; turn off fire. Mix in a bowl 1 T. flour, 1 T. sugar, and a few T. water (enough to make a paste), stir to mix; add egg yolks, mixing well; add the egg mixture to the sugar mixture, mix well; turn on fire and let combined mixture thicken, stirring often; turn off fire. Add salt and butter, mixing well. Pour into baked pie crust, top with meringue, brown.
