Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 (18.25 oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare mix listed on the box.

FILLING:
5 Tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare and bake cake according to package directions in a greased 13x9x2" pan (I always use waxed paper or parchment paper on the bottom of the pan since you have to flip the cake out-makes that a WHOLE LOT EASIER!). Cool cake completely on wire rack.

For filling, whisk flour and milk together in a small saucepan. Over low heat, continue to whisk until mixture thickens. Remove mixture to a small bowl, cover with a paper towel and let cool completely. Place cooked mixture in a large mixing bowl; beat . Add other ingredients in the order listed beating well as you add each one. Beat on high speed until light and fluffy, about 5-10 minutes. Split cooled cake horizontally; spread filling on bottom of cake. Replace top of cake, cover and let stand at least 1 day to develop flavor. (I always refrigerate mine).
