1c. margarine
1c. sugar
4 eggs
4 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tbls. vanilla or anise extract

Directions:
Directions:
Mix margarine, sugar and eggs then add flour, baking powder and anise or vanilla. Form into 3 loaves like French bread. After baked, cool slightly and cut into 1/2 in. slices. Put back on cookie sheet to toast for about 5 minutes on each side. Watch carefully so they don't burn. Everyone's oven bakes differently so be careful. After you form the loaves, before you bake them, brush the top of the loaves with beaten egg white - it gives the top a shine.
