1 cup each carrots, celery, onion finely chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
8 cups chicken broth
2 lbs chopped tomatoes (2 cans diced)
4 6 oz. cans tomato paste
2 bay leaves
8 tsp. sugar
1-1/2 cups cream
pepper to taste

in a large pot saute carrots, onion, celery, and garlic in some of the broth. Then add the other ingredients.
