4 C. Flour
1 C. Sugar
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/3 C. Buttermilk
1 Egg, slightly beaten
1 C. Raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 350º
Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt, in a large bowl. Make a well in the center. In a smaller bowl, combine butter, buttermilk and egg. Add liquids to dry ingredients, pouring into well, and stir into a soft dough. Add raisins and mix lightly. Transfer batter to cast iron skillet, shaping into a ball, or with lightly floured hands shape into a ball onto a baking sheet. Slash an X across the top. Bake until set, 50 to 60 minutes. until done
