3/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 T. vanilla extract or 2 tsp. anise extract with 1 tsp. vanilla, or 1/2 tsp anise oil and 1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder

In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until thick. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla. Sift together flour and baking power, and blend into batter until smooth. Heat the pizzelle iron. Drop by recommended amount for your pizzelle maker following the instructions of the machine. Carefully remove cookies with a plastic fork and allow to cool on cookie sheet. Place in a sealed container once the pizzelles are completely cooled.
