2 eggs, separated
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/3 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites until very stiff. Add about 1/4 cup sugar to keep egg whites stiff. Cream shortening, add salt, vanilla and rest of sugar gradually. Add unbeaten egg yolks and beat until light and fluffy. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. fold in beaten egg whites and fold in fresh berries coated with flour. Turn into 8 x 8 greased pan. sprinkle top with sugar lightly. Bake at 350ºF for 50 - 60 minutes
