3 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 jar (7 1/2 - 8 oz.) marshmallow cream
1 tsp vanilla
5 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/8 tsp salt
1 2/3 c. evaporated milk

Butter a large pan about 12X7 1/2X2", or two or more smaller pans. Open the chocolate package, jar of marshmallow creme. Loosen vanilla cap for ready measuring. those ingredients need to be added the instant cooked mixture is removed from heat.
Measure sugar into 4-quart sauce pan. Add butter, salt and evaporated milk. Cook gently, stirring constantly, over medium heat to softball stage (236º), about 28 minutes. Remove from heat.
Add immediately the chocolate, marshmallow creme, and vanilla. Stir quickly and vigorously until chocolate is melted and all ingredients are well blended. When mixture begins to thicken, turn into buttered pan. Cool then cut into 1" squared
