1/2 cup rice (brown or white)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 quart milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1 inch cinnamon sticks

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium sized sauce pan bring 3/4 cups of water, add rice and salt cook over low heat, covered and stirring occasionally.
10 minutes until rice is done.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Turn rice into lightly buttered 8 1/2 X 1 1/2 round baking dish. Stir ni milk and sugar then add 1/4 tsp. . Insert cinnamon sticks in rice. You could always grate some fresh cinnamon over the top.
Place in shallow pan, pour water around dish, Bake 2 1/2 hours stir every half hour.
