2 T vegetable oil
1 lb ground beef
3 c uncooked elbow macaroni
2 c water
1 16 oz can tomato sauce
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 15 oz can diced tomatos

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oil in skillet and brown beef. Drain excess fat. Sprinkle macaroni over the meat. Combine water, tomato sauce diced tomatos and onion soup mix. Pour over noodles but do not stir. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to moderate and simmer 30 minutes or until noodles are tender. Optional, substitute 1 cup wine for 1 c water. Optional: tear up kale leaves and stir in with browned hamburger

Growing up, my mom always had "themed" week night meals and Monday was hamburger and tomato sauce, so we had goulash many Monday nights. She always served dill pickles with goulash.
