1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp salt
1 c. molasses
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c. hot water
1 c. raisins
1 c. Crisco shortening
2 eggs, beaten well
1 1/2 tsp ginger
1 T soda
1 T vinegar
enough flour to make soft dough

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve soda in hot water; set aside. Mix together remaining ingredients, add in soda water. Mix in enough flour to make dough soft. Roll dough on floured board or drop by teaspoon, sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 325º until done to touch, about 10-12 minutes. Do NOT overbake!
