THIS IS JUST TIPS THAT YOU CAN USE INSTEAD OF

PASTA DISHES:
1) USE SPAM INSTEAD OF HAMBURGER WHEN MAKING SPAGHETTI. JUST MAKE SPAGHETTI AS YOU NORMALLY WOULD BUT SUBSTITUTE THE FRIED SPAM CHUNKS FOR THE GROUND BEEF.
2) USE A JAR OF "TACO BELL MILD TACO SAUCE" IN PLACE OF OR IN ADDITION TO YOUR REGULAR TOMATO SAUCE.
3) ADD SOME SPRINKLES (TO TASTE) OF ITALIAN SEASONING FOR ADDITIONAL FLAVOR (SPAGHETTI).

VEGETABLE DISHES:
1) TO MAKE SWEET KRAUT, USE CANNED BAVARIAN SAUERKRAUT (1 OR 2 CANS DEPENDING ON QUANTITY DESIRED). PLACE IT IN A SLOW COOKER, ADD A TABLESPOON OF SUGAR (+ OR - TO TASTE), SPRINKLE IN ADDITIONAL SESAME SEEDS. MIX WELL. SLOW COOK UNTIL KRAUT BECOMES LIGHT OR TRANSPARENT.
2) WHEN MAKING SWEET OR SAUERKRAUT, PLACE A HEEL OF BREAD OVER THE TOP TO ABSORB THE SMELL. REMOVE BEFORE SERVING. (THIS WORKS WITH SLOW COOKER - HAVEN'T TRIED THIS WITH STOVE OR OVEN COOKED.

BREAD:
1) WHEN MAKING BANANA BREAD, TRY USING A JAR OF JUNIOR SIZE BANANA BABY FOOD (NOT THE ONE WITH PINEAPPLE OR ADDITIONS). QUICKER AND MUCH LESS MASHING, MUSHING AND MESSING.
2) IF YOU MAKE A LOT OF HOMEMADE YEAST BREAD, BUY THE LARGER/BULK SIZE INSTEAD OF THE INDIVIDUAL PACKAGES (SAMS, BJS. COSCO, OTHER WHOLESALE PLACES HAVE IT IN POUND - PLUS SIZES AT HUGE SAVINGS OVER THE INDIVIDUAL PACKETS). SAVE AN AMOUNT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE (A COVERED PIMENTO CHEESE JAR WORKS FINE) AND PUT THE REST OF THE RESEALED PACKAGE BACK IN THE FREEZER. IT WILL HOLD UP TO A COUPLE YEARS AND YOU'LL STILL HAVE SOME AT ROOM TEMPERATURE THAT WILL WORK QUICKLY.

SALAD DRESSING:
1) SWEET: ADD SWEET PICKLE JUICE TO THE MAYONNAISE, ALONG WITH A SQUIRT OF LEMON AND A DROP OF TWO OF MILK TO MAKE IT SMOOTH AND EASIER TO MIX INTO THE SALAD.
2) TART: ADD JUST ENOUGH DILL PICKLE JUICE TO THE MAYONNAISE TO MAKE IT SMOOTH AND EASIER TO MIX INTO SALAD.

GENERAL TIPS
1) WRAP CELERY IN TIN FOIL AND STORE IT IN THE REFRIGERATOR. IT WILL LAST MUCH LONGER.
2) WHEN WATER COOKING "SALT-FREE" FOODS, ADDING JUST A DASH OF SALT TO THE WATER WILL ALLOW THOSE NOT ON "SALT-FREE" DIETS TO BE ABLE TO ADD ADDITIONAL FRO THEIR OWN PORTION. WITHOUT IT, THEY CAN ADD A SACK OF SALT AND STILL NOT GET THE DESIRED FLAVOR. IT'S NOT ENOUGH TO AFFECT THE ONE ON THE "SALT-FREE" DIET. UNLESS IT'S AN ABSOLUTE "NO-NO" OF ANY SORTS.
3) PLACE UNOPENED CHIP BAGS (POTATO, CORN, ETC) IN THE FREEZER. THEY WILL LAST FOR MONTHS THAT WAY AND BE AS FRESH WHEN OPENED AS WHEN FIRST PURCHASED.
4) TO KEEP BANANAS FROM OVER RIPENING, CUT OFF THE STEM AT THE TOP THAT HOOKS THEM TOGETHER.
5) "MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO", WHEN PEELING A BANANA, PEE; IT FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP (THAT'S HOW THE MONKEYS DO IT) AND WILL AVOID MOST OF THOSE STRINGS THAT STICK TO THE SKIN AND FRUIT.
