2-3 Jonathan apples, peeled, cored, and sliced thin
1 C granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 C sifted all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
2/3 C shortening
4-6 T cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix apples, sugar, and cinnamon together. Set aside. Sift together flour and salt and cut in shortening with pastry blender. Add water, using small portion at a time, till mixture holds together. Divide dough into 2 parts. Roll out each part on floured board; cut each crust into 6 squares. Fill equally with apple mixture and roll dough over to cover and pinch dough together to seal. Place on ungreased cookie sheet or in 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake in 400º oven 18-20 minutes or till golden brown. Serve with Orange sauce (recipe under desserts; sauces)
