2 LBS SUGAR
2 C VINEGAR
1/2 oz STICK CINNAMON
1/4 oz WHOLE CLOVE

Directions:
DIP QUICKLY IN HOT WATER TO REMOVE SKINS. APPLES OR PEARS MAY BE PEELED, HALVED AND CORED. BOIL THE SUGAR, VINEGAR, AND CINNAMON FOR 20 MIN. PLACE 2 CLOVES IN EACH FRUIT DROP INTO HOT SYRUP AND COOK UNTIL SOFT. PACK THE FRUIT IN STERILIZED JARS, FILL TO THE TOP WITH HOT SYRUP AND SEAL.
